Health & Safety Bulletin – Tips During Ramadan – June 2016
Ramadan is a holy month in Islam and Muslims observe fasting from dawn to sunset.
Ramadan word itself signifies the amount of heat and dryness, which results in the increase of fluid and mineral requirement.
Follow this health & safety tips during Ramadan:
- Sufficient fluid intake (soups, juices, water) – drink minimum of 8 glasses.
- Conserve Body Water, during the day stay in cooler areas and limit physical activity.
- Do not overheat.
- Go for low fat and a balanced diet, avoiding sweets and refined products.
- Rest.
- Stay fit, ideal time to exercise is early in the morning, NEVER when fasting.
